A Buddha statue in the Borobudur complex, Jakarta, Indonesia |
Thank you for visiting Sightings. Photography has been a part of my life ever since my professional photographer father placed an old Rolleiflex in my hands when I was a youngster.

Somewhere in Medan, Sumatra, Indonesia. 1995.
On a home visit to Singapore in 1995, I took a side trip to Medan. Even to this day, I remember taking this photograph, but I can't recall the location. It appears I was on high ground looking down on the town centre. The original image is old and faded. To reclaim it, I did some editing and applied artistic effects.

A hotel by Lake Toba.in Medan, Sumatra, Indonesia. 1995
I was fortunate enough to visit Lake Toba and the surrounding villages. It is the largest lake in Indonesia and the largest volcanic lake in the world. This is a restored image. It was shot with a Minolta X700 loaded with slide film. This slide was eventually scanned and the resulting imagecarefully restored. Read more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Toba
